
Executive Committees
2011 - 2012
The By-Laws Committee reviews the existing by-laws for revision as appropriate, to ensure that the Organization has the rules, guidelines and governance to support its mission and vision.
The Judicial Selection Committee interviews candidates for judicial appointments to courts throughout the State of Maryland and makes recommendations for the selection of judges for the State of Maryland and the Federal Court System.
The Membership Committee oversees the membership information and performs activities to recruit individuals and expand the Organization's membership.
The Technology Committee identifies, evaluates and implements solutions to meet the technology needs of the Organization.
The Legislative Affairs Committee monitors proposed legislation and in coordination with the Executive Board formulates positions on legislation. The Committee may also make recommendations the Executive Board on the enactment of legislation.
The Programs and Continuing Legal Education Committee plans and promotes activities and programs for the educational enrichment of its members and the community at large.
The Solo and Small Firm Committee plans and promotes activities geared towards solo practioners and small law firms.
The Young Lawyers Committee plans and promotes activities and programs geared towards the enrichment of young lawyers.
The BLSA Liaison serves as the conduit between the Organization and the Black Law Students Associations at the University of Baltimore and the Unversity of Maryland law schools.
